Begin with a period of silence, acknowledging the presence of the Holy Spirit. You may want to repeat phrases such as “Lord, thank you for inviting me to be here. Help me to hear what you want me to know about you and what your purposes are for me.” Calm your spirit and center on God's love for all people. 

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 

You may find some of the following scripture passages helpful in your prayer time: 

Deuteronomy 14:2 – For you are a people holy to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. 

John 13:35 - By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. 

Acts 11:25-26 - Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to find Saul. When he found him, he brought him up to Antioch. Then for a whole year they met together with the Church and taught a large crowd. It was in Antioch that the disciples were first given the name of “Christians”. 

Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. 

1 Peter 5:6 – Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper ?me he may exalt you. 

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 

2 Chronicles 6:21 – Hear the supplications of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive. 

 1 Chronicles 16:11 – Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Psalm 27:8 – You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.” Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 

Psalm 34:14 – Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it 

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 

Psalm 76:8 – You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth feared and was still. 

 Daniel 9:9 – To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against Him; 

Ephesians 4:32 – Be Kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. 

Jeremiah 33:6 – Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security. 

3 John 1:2 – Beloved , I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. 

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
